VSC's Mission, Goals & Vision


VSC's Mission:

To Partner with and Support, All Veteran Service Organizations and Service Providers that offer goods, services, programs and benefits to our Veterans, Military, and their Families through VSC's Resource Center and Website.

To Promote Awareness, by encouraging communities and Veteran Organizations to get more involved by helping them bring awareness of various Veterans issues on ways to help support Veterans, Military and their Families in their communities.

VSC's Goals:

To Raise Funds for Special Veteran Projects, such as: 1) The annual "Mayors' Veterans Appreciation Day" event; 2) An annual Veterans Appreciation Dinner; 3) Initiate various fundraisers throughout the year, including concerts and job fairs; and 4) Partner with other Veteran Organizations and Veteran Groups, such as MACV, that promote, support and inform our Veterans, Military and their Families about the goods, services, programs and benefits available to them.

VSC's Vision:

To Bring Together Veteran Organizations and Service Providers to Help Build a Nationwide Database that will compile, local, state and federal information on where Veterans, Military and their Families can get the goods, services, programs and benefits they will need to help them succeed.  This information will be shared with all other organizations, Veterans, Military and their Families.

VSC Meetings

  • Information on future meetings of VSC's MembershipMeetings will be posted here at a later date.
  • When VSC's Board Members has topics to discuss they usually meet at 1:00 PM on the 3rd tuesday of each month before the MACV meeting or it is discussed via phone or email.
  • VSC's Board of DIrectors officially meets four (4) times a year at a date, time and location of their choosing.

About VSC

  • Veterans Support  Council (VSC) has grown out of the Mayors' Advisory Council for Veterans (MACV) in Indianapolis.  VSC was initially formed as the official fund raising and promotional arm of MACV. Now VSC is partnering with MACV and other Veterans organizations to connect Veterans, Military and their Families with service providers whose counselors, case managers, and support coaches can direct them/you to the goods, services, programs, benefits and a variety of other resources designed to make their/your lives easier.

    • New Wine Skin Ministries, Veterans Appreciation Day

  • VSC secures funding and in-kind donations and resources for MACV and other Veterans events and other special circumstances projects such as: making funds available to help veterans in emergencies, i.e. help with burials, Christmas, other Veterans Day events, or anything else approved by VSC's Board of Directors.

  • VSC is an Indiana Non-Profit Corporation that that was formed on the 10th of March 2014. VSC secured its IRS 501 (c)(3) on the 28th of January 2016. Our Federal ID # is: 46-4747247.

  • VSC does not have any paid staff. We are all unpaid volunteers. Rent and office space are donated by Homeless & ReEntry Helpers, Inc. The only fixed expenses VSC has is our business phone, internet bill and website fees which is just under $200.00 a month payable to AT&T and Web.com.

The Oath We Still Live By

The U.S. Armed Forces Oath of Enlistment Federal law requires everyone who enlists or re-enlists in the Armed Forces of the United States to take the below enlistment oath.

We do solemnly swear (or affirm) that we will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign, and domestic; that we will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that we will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help us God.

VSC will soon be accepting Donations from Individuals and Corporations that wish to Support Veterans Support Council, Inc. (VSC). VSC's main objective is to Partner with, and bring Veterans, Non-Veterans, Veterans Organizations, Veterans Service Organizations and Private Sector Corporations together that's goals are the same as VSC's and that's to help and support our Veterans, our Military Personnel and their Families.

Benefits of Membership:  

  • Your continued Donation shows your Support for our Veteran Community
  • Receive monthly Veterans Support Council Newsletter (via Email), keeping you informed of current events, new and additional services made available to Veterans, Military & Families.

The Donations for your continued Support will be used for VSC's "Number One" priority of Supporting Veteran's Events and Activities.  Your Donation will also be used to pay for VSC and MACV's operating expenses, such as; printing, promotional aids, phone & internet bill, website costs, insurance, office supplies, legal and filing fees.  No office rent or salaries will be paid out of these monies.

If you are interested in being a Premier Supporter of VSC, please fill out the below form and click on the "Submit to VSC" button.  We will Email you updated information as we add additional benefits to our Supporters.

You DO NOT have to be a VSC Premier Supporter to attend any MACV meetings or participate in any "Mayors' Veterans Appreciation Day" events.

PLEASE NOTE: There are no membership requirements or fees to be a MACV Member, just show up and participate in the Networking .....  You are considered a MACV Member by just attending several monthly meetings per year .....

  • If you or someone you are helping is hurt or in imminent danger, please get to a phone and dial 9-1-1 for immediate help.
  • If you or someone you know is feeling suicidal, or facing a crisis, dial 2-1-1 in Indy or 1-(800) 211-9966 for immediate help.
  • If you are a victim of domestic violence dial 1-(800) 332-7385 in Indy for help.

For Non-Emergencies:

  • If you are a Veteran, or a Family member of a Veteran, in search of information on how to get goods or services you/they may need, you can dial 2-1-1or contact one of the Service Providers or Veterans Organizations listed on our "Resources" page.

Please Note:

  • VSC & MACV are not providers of any direct services other than Information and Referrals on where to get goods, services, programs and benefits for Veterans, Military and their Families.
